There has been a long mystery as to the real identity of Lucy Eliza, whose real last name may have been Dossett. The story handed down tells that her family was moving West when the mother was taken ill and died. Lucy was the only one out of 6 siblings adopted by a family named Thompson. She was said to have found at least 5 of them again during her lifetime but we have no information on them.
